COOKING GAS
Cooking gas as we commonly call it is Liquefied Petroleum Gas. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a flammable mixture of propane and butane gases. It is called liquefied because it can easily be transformed into a liquid. Liquefied petroleum gas is prepared by refining petroleum or natural gas as it emerges from the ground.
WHAT IS LIQUEFACTION?
Liquefaction is the method of transforming LGP vapour to LGP liquid and it is dependant on the temperature and pressure of the vapour .thje higher the temperature of the vapour the higher the pressure needed to convert it to a liquid.s
Liquefied petroleum burns relatively cleanly with no soot compared to kerosene and other cooking liquids. It does not pose ground or water pollution but it can pollute the air. Its boiling point is below normal temperature and heat and it tends to evaporate at room temperature that is why domestic liquefied petroleum is supplied in pressurised steel vessels.
TRANSFORMING LIQUEFIED GAS INTO A LIQUID
Liquefied petroleum gas 270times its volume as a liquid that is why it is stored as a liquid under pressure in a gas cylinder. When you release some pressure from your gas cylinders the liquid will turn back to gas vapour.

DO NOT USE AN ELECTRIC FAN TO IMPROVE VENTILATION ADS YOU TRY TO CLEAR THE GAS
The use of cooking gas in Uganda Ugandans today have not yet taken up the idea of using liquefied petroleum gas for cooking in their homes, with most of them using charcoal for cooking. This is a threat to the green trees and vegetation. cooking with LPG is being encouraged through reduced taxes to encourage more Ugandans to adapt to cooking with gas.
